The Prophetic Season of Praise (4) — Weaponising Your Praise

SCRIPTURE TEXT

Read Joshua 6:1–20; Psalm 149:1–9

THOUGHT

In Joshua chapter 6 we see God calling Israel to weaponise Praise as a weapon. God required them to obey His instructions, His people marched obediently around the impenetrable walls of Jericho and when the right moment arrived, let out a shout of praise and victory!

Hallelujah!!!!

Question: How did they weaponise Praise?

Answer: FAITH.

Praise is weaponised by the exercise of our faith in God, as we praise and worship Him or as in this case, "shout in praise to God."

"When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city."

— Joshua 6:20

Perhaps they shouted "Hallelujah!!!!"

Whatever the case, moved by their faith, God burst into their circumstances, shaking the earth and causing the walls to collapse and a great and otherwise-impossible victory to be won!

Let us realise that Praise is not just singing upbeat, loud songs, but rather a faith-filled declaration of God's power and nature in the face of impossible circumstances that attract the supernatural power of Heaven to bring breakthrough!

A second thought I want to share today, is that in a season of judgement, we are also called to execute the judgement that is written: Psalm 149:5–9.

For this to happen, we must learn to weaponise Praise. We can also weaponise Praise by clapping, dancing, drumming etc… but always in faith, not entertainment.

Our praise is our 'weapon' — one of the most powerful believers weapon you will ever use! Once again, remember, this is a weapon that can only be activated by FAITH. Our words and what we declare have the power to change the situation we are in.

Praise is therefore, among other things, a faith-filled declaration of God's power and nature in the face of impossible circumstances that attract the supernatural power of Heaven to bring breakthrough.

PRAYERS

1. Thank God for the weapon of Praise — Faith in Him as we sing, clap, dance and declare His great works.

2. Thank God for the privilege of executing the judgement that is written, especially on false gods and the demonic (see Jeremiah 10:11).

3. As a spiritual exercise: Use Jeremiah 10:11 to execute the judgement that is written against:

  • Your life and destiny.
  • Your family / business / ministry / community.
  • Against Nigeria and Benin republic.

Jeremiah 10:11

"Tell them this: 'These gods, who did not make the heavens and the earth, will perish from the earth and from under the heavens.'"

4. With clapping and dancing (if you can), declare the high praises of our God.
