The Prophetic Season of Praise (3) — A Season of Exercising Faith

SCRIPTURE TEXTS

Read Exodus 9:1–26; Malachi 3:10–18

THOUGHTS

These are the days of Judgement. God is judging the systems of the world. He is judging Egypt and Babylon. He is judging the gods of the systems of the world and He is also judging the demonic princes of the darkness of this world. And if His own people will put their faith to work, they will be unaffected by the numerous judgements.

Exodus 9:4

"But the Lord will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and that of Egypt, so that no animal belonging to the Israelites will die."

Malachi 3:18

"And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not."

What do you think the children of Israel were doing in Goshen as God was judging the gods of Egypt? They were PRAISING THE GOD OF THEIR DELIVERANCE. This required faith — to trust God's Word that He will indeed make a distinction. You will do the same!!!

Believers must trust God to make distinction between believers and the wicked. And as God makes a distinction, believers must become Worshippers, who will praise God in the midst of the trials and tests and temptations going on in the world, and God will honour their faith and see to it that they will not be affected.

Hallelujah!!!!

Secondly, the time of judgement must also be a time of intercession.

God's judgements must make us become intercessors not just Worshippers:

"Our Father, righteous are your judgements, but as you judge the systems, let the people within these systems look to you, let them believe in you. Repent, turn, come out from the systems and serve You."

We are told that some of the Egyptians joined the Israelites to observe the instructions of Goshen and were spared:

Exodus 9:20

"Those officials of Pharaoh who feared the word of the Lord hurried to bring their slaves and their livestock inside."

Exercise faith in the midst of the judgement, believe to see many come to the foot of the Cross this year, even via God's judgement on Babylon and Egypt.

Thirdly, we must put our faith to work in the midst of great trials.

In Malachi 3:10–18, we are told tithing was one of the faith actions that must be carried out for God to bless their land and make a distinction between believers and other nations in a time of judgement:

"I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit," says the Lord Almighty. "Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land," says the Lord Almighty."

— Malachi 3:11–12

PRAYER POINTS

1. The 10 Plagues of Egypt in Order: water turning to blood, frogs, lice, flies, livestock pestilence, boils, hail, locusts, darkness, and the killing of firstborn children.

Ask the Lord that none of these plagues nor the diseases of Egypt will come near you or your family this year in Jesus name (Exodus 15:26).

2. Ask God to hide you and all your own in the Goshen of Jesus name, and in the Goshen of the Spirit this year in JESUS name.

3. Ask the Lord to use His judgement to draw many to repentance.

4. Ask for grace to exercise faith in the midst of judgement in the order of Malachi 3:10–18, and be an example of the faithfulness of God in the midst of excruciating and hard times.
